This programme focuses on the practical delivery of mentoring. Learners develop the ability to establish mentoring relationships, assess starting points, set agreed outcomes, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback that drives development.
Apprentices learn how to motivate, challenge and support mentees while maintaining professional, ethical and legal standards. They also develop reflective practice and evidence-based mentoring approaches to ensure their support is structured and effective.
We contextualise the programme to your organisation and assign a dedicated Trainer to guide the learner throughout. Support includes session planning, evidence development and structured preparation for End-Point Assessment, always aiming for a Distinction outcome.
Delivery is through a blended learning model, combining live workshops, virtual learning and face-to-face Trainer visits to ensure flexibility without compromising quality.

Training That Strengthens Capability
The Learning & Skills Mentor Standard develops expertise across:
Establishing and managing professional mentoring relationships
Mentoring theory and practical models
Planning and structuring mentoring sessions
Assessing starting points and setting agreed outcomes
Questioning and listening techniques
Providing constructive and developmental feedback
Reviewing progress and adapting action plans
Maintaining accurate records and working within legal requirements
Evidence-based mentoring practice and reflective development
Alongside technical competence, apprentices develop behaviours that matter in practice, such as professionalism, resilience, adaptability, ethical working, mutual respect and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The result is confident mentors who support progression, improve learner outcomes and strengthen internal development pathways.
End-Point Assessment
The End-Point Assessment consists of two elements:
Observation with questioning (50%)
Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence (50%)
Both elements assess knowledge, skills and behaviours, ensuring apprentices can demonstrate competence in real mentoring practice.
Our Trainers provide structured preparation to ensure learners are confident and fully prepared for assessment.
